The Stallions needed a win to clinch a home game for the first round of the playoffs and responded by racing to a 31-7 halftime lead. Junior quarterback Nick Gentile threw for a career-high 181 yards and 2 touchdowns. Charles Chandler and Adam Griffin each had receiving touchdowns for DeSales, who put up 456 yards of total offense. Gentile and Mitch Herbert combined to throw for 212 yards passing, which was the most passing yards for the Stallions since the 2006 season.

DeSales took a 13-0 lead then the Bengals rallied to score 14 unanswered to take the lead in the 2nd half. The Stallions responded with 14 straight points and finished the regular season undefeated for the second straight season. It was the first time since 1997-1998 that DeSales went unbeaten two years in a row. DeSales out-rushed Benedictine 336-90, led by Josh Kusan’s 139 yards and 2 touchdowns. Thomas Gentile also added 2 scores on the ground and had 89 yards rushing.

The Stallions won their 4th straight over the Bengals thanks to 3 rushing touchdowns by quarterback Nick Gentile and 2 touchdowns by Warren Ball. DeSales had one of their best rushing totals of the season - totaling 282 yards - led by Evan Kendrick’s 78 yards on 6 carries. Kendrick also recorded his first interception of the season, which set up the final touchdown of the night for the Purple and White. With the win, DeSales qualified for their 17th consecutive playoffs.
