9/11/2009  -  DeSales 13, New Albany 6

Junior defensive end Chris Rock intercepted a Joe Morlan pass with less than two minutes remaining, deep in DeSales’ territory and the Stallions escaped with a 13-6 victory.  Quarterback Nick Gentile’s 48-yard run in the 3rd quarter was the only points the Stallions scored in the final 3 quarters. 

9/5/2008  -  DeSales 28, New Albany 7

Josh Kusan had 8 rushes for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns for DeSales.  Senior quarterback Thomas Gentile threw 2 touchdown passes as the Stallions put up 371 yards of offense against the Eagles.  Both Mitch Yinger and Chris Rock caught touchdowns for DeSales.

9/14/2007  -  DeSales 23, New Albany 20

Mark Sherman’s 38-yard field goal with 8 seconds remaining was the difference as the Stallions avenged a Regional Final loss from the previous season.  Late in the 4th quarter, after the Eagles tied the game at 20, sophomore running back Adam Griffin returned a kickoff 47 yards to the New Albany 39 yard line.  Griffin later added a 12-yard run to set up the game winning kick.  The 3 point win for DeSales was the closest game the Stallions played in the 2007 regular season.

11/18/2006  -  New Albany 10, DeSales 6 (D-III Regional Final)

New Albany continued it’s impressive run through Region 12 by avenging a regular season loss to DeSales.  The Eagles were the 8-seed in the region after finishing the regular season with a 6-4 record and only beat one team with a winning record prior to the postseason.  New Albany out-gained the Stallions 235-61 on the ground to win their first Regional title.

9/15/2006  -  DeSales 35, New Albany 14

DeSales quarterback Jimmy Vahalik threw for a program-record 358 yards to lead the Stallions over New Albany.  Cornerback Kyle McCallister intercepted New Albany’s Tristan Moore pass late in the 4th quarter to seal the victory for DeSales.

11/11/2005  -  DeSales 35, New Albany 14 (Reg. Semifinal)

After a 44-27 loss to Cincinnati Moeller, the Stallions were in jeopardy of having their streak of 11 consecutive OHSAA playoff appearances snapped.  DeSales responded  by winning their final 3 regular season games, including a dramatic 23-16 win in week 10 at Ironton.  New Albany was 10-1 and was a year removed from having their best season in school history.  The Stallions cruised to a 35-14 and went on to play for the 2005 Division-III State championship.

9/10/2010  -  New Albany 13, DeSales 10 O.T.

The Stallions lose their home opener and the Eagles snap a 3-game losing streak to DeSales.  Nick Gentile rushed for 137 yards on 22 carries, but fumbled the ball on the Stallions’ first possession of overtime.  New Albany kicked a field goal on the ensuing possession to win it.  Running back Warren Ball had the game’s only score for DeSales. Anthony Ciammaicella kicked his first-ever field goal on the varsity level in the loss for the Stallions.

9/09/2011  -  New Albany 27, DeSales 24

New Albany’s Jimmy Gammill kicked a 44-yard field goal with 1 second left in regulation as Eagles won their second straight over DeSales.      Gammill also made a 41-yarder to tie the game at 24-24 with 1 minute remaining in the 4th quarter.  On the ensuing possession, Alex Perrine’s pass was intercepted at the DeSales 28 yard line by New Albany’s Clayton Wooten with 27 seconds remaining.  Two plays later, Gammill hit the game-winner, his second in as many years against DeSales.  The Stallions out-gained the Eagles 333-278.  Warren Ball scored twice to lead DeSales
